15 New Cases of COVID-19 Identified

All new cases of the virus were imported, with the majority being Chinese nationals arriving from the Philippines.
PHNOM PENH--The Ministry of Health on Tuesday (Aug. 11) announced that 15 new cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been identified. The ministry maintained that there is no evidence of community transmission as new cases continue to be imported.
According to the Health Ministry, 13 of the latest cases are Chinese nationals who arrived in Cambodia on Aug. 9, 2020. They flew in via the Philippines along with 119 other passengers who have since been placed into mandatory quarantine.
The remaining two new cases are both Cambodians and residents of Phnom Penh who, on Aug. 11, tested positive for COVID-19. They are believed to have returned from the United States via China (Taiwan ) before arriving in Cambodia on Aug. 9 along with 75 other passengers. All those aboard the flight are now undergoing quarantine procedures.
The 15 new cases have been hospitalized at the Chak Angre Health Center in Phnom Penh.
Meanwhile, one Cambodian man has made a full recovery and has since been discharged from hospital.
These latest cases bring Cambodia’s total number of COVID-19 cases to 266, with 46 of them receiving treatment and 220 of them having made recoveries.
