PHNOM PENH--The Angkor Photo Festival and Workshops will take place in Siem Reap City for the 15th time this year with its usual program of exhibitions, talks and training.

“For the five days of the public festival—3 through 7 Dec.—the festival will host indoor and outdoor exhibitions, nightly slideshow projections, portfolio reviews, artist talks, panel discussions and workshops,” the festival press release stated Saturday.

Held since 2005, the festival is an opportunity to see works from some of the best photographers in Asia.

The event also holds a workshop for emerging photographers of the region. Several of those who previously took part in that training program return this year, the press release said. “Along the riverside, alumni Senthil Kumaran (India) and Uma Bista (Nepal) present ‘Tamed Tuskers’ and ‘Our Songs from the Forest,’ respectively.”

In addition, the release said, “our program features prominently the work and curatorial voices of our professional workshop alumni such as Linh Pham and Ha Dao from the dynamic Vietnamese photography collective Matca who are curating two shows for this year’s edition.”

The full program for the festival, which will take place from Nov. 25 to Dec. 7, will soon be posted on the internet at www.angkor-photo.com.
