PHNOM PENH — Cambodia has sent a message of condolences for the people who died and of support for those injured in a terrorist attack at the Moscow Crocus Concert Hall, which took place on March 22 in Krasnogorsk in Russia.

In a press release on March 24, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation wrote that Cambodia “condemns the vicious attack in the strongest possible terms.

“We extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims and the Government of the Russian Federation, and wish a speedy and full recovery to those injured,” the statement read.

Cambodia was shocked by the news, the ministry’s statement said, adding that terrorism acts are “criminal and unjustifiable” regardless of the motives behind the acts.

"We stand with the Russian Government and people during this time of grief," the ministry stated in its message.

On March 22, more than 60 people were killed and 100 others injured in a fire during a brazen attack at the Moscow Crocus Concert Hall. To date, the death toll has reached 133 people, but the authorities said the number of deaths could be more.

According to a news report of Associated Press (AP) on March 24, four suspects were arrested while fleeing to Ukraine. “[The Ukrainian government in] Kyiv strongly denied any involvement in Friday's assault on the Crocus City Hall music venue in Krasnogorsk, and the Islamic State group's Afghanistan affiliate claimed responsibility,” the AP report read.
