Cambodia Donates Supplies to China to Help Fight the COVID-19 Epidemic

They are destined to two Chinese provinces. 

PHNOM PENH—Cambodia has sent 10,000 face masks to China to help the country deal with Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemic. 

"China is battling with the COVID-19 epidemic and to show [Cambodia’s] generosity and morale support in this difficult time, Tourism Minister Thong Khon…has donated 10,000 masks to Zhejiang and Henan provinces," a post on the ministry's Facebook page read Saturday. 

According to Top Sopheak, spokesman for the Ministry of Tourism, the masks were shipped Saturday by plane to the city of Zhengzhou in Henan province.   

On Feb. 5, King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Norodom Monineath Sihanouk donated $150,000 to China to contribute to that country’s efforts to cope with the spread of the disease. 

According to the Johns Hopkins CSSE data, as of 3:23 pm Saturday, a total of 85,406 cases of the COVID 19 had been confirmed worldwide. Among those, 79,251 cases were in China. So far, the disease has claimed 2,835 lives.
