Cambodia Lists 28 National Players for AFF U23 Championship

PHNOM PENH--The Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) released the final list of 28 players selected for the AFF U23 Championship 2022, which is to kick off on Feb. 14 at the Moradok Techo National Stadium.

Among them, there are seven players from Boeung Ket, six from Visakha, three from Prey Veng, three from Phnom Penh Crown, three from Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng, two from Electricity of Cambodia (EDC), two from Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) and one from Angkor Tiger.

Hul Kimhuy and Koy Salim of Boeung Ket Club and Virak Dara of Prey Veng Club are picked as goalkeepers.

 In defense, there are Sar Ratana, Art Oun Touch and Chan Sara Pich from Prey Veng; Tes Sambath and Leng Nora from Visakha; Ye Safi and Soeut Barang from Phnom Penh Crown; Soeut Nava, Tang Bun and Chhay from Boeung Ket; Ny Sokry from Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng and Chhoeung Visinu from EDC.

Eight players chosen for the midfield area include Lim Arun Ray Min and San Kim Heng from Boeung Ket; Min Rattanak from Svay Rieng; Chuon Chanchao from Phnom Penh Crown; Sin Sovann Makara from Prey Veng; Nop David from EDC; Vireak from Visakha and Mao Piseth from Angkor Tiger.

In the attack, there are six players such as Sarty and Kirina from Visakha; Nhean Sosidan, Narong and Kakkada from RCAF; Sieng Chanthea from Boeung Ket and An Pisey from Svay Rieng.

For the AFF U23 Championship 2022, Cambodian national team manager Keisuke Honda will lead the match. 

Cambodia is in group A with the first match against Brunei on the evening of Feb.14 followed by a series of clashes with the Philippines and East Timor at the Moradok Techo National Stadium.

For Group B, after Indonesia withdrew from the match due to Covid-19, only three teams including Malaysia, Myanmar and Laos will continue to compete. Meanwhile, group C will feature Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore.
