Cambodian Kicks Philippines Legend out of Billiards Competition

PHNOM PENH  – Cambodia's Woo Dong Hoon defeated Efren Reyes of the Philippines in the men’s billiards 3-cushion carom single event at the SEA Games.



Woo Dong Hoon’s 40-15 win in round 16 knocked the Philippines billiards legend out of contention for a medal and set himself up for a chance of gold in the final this evening against Suriya Suwannasingh of Thailand this evening, May 10.



Reyes told the Manila Bulletin, “I thought I could beat him. I didn’t know that this is his game, that he’s really good.” 



Woo Dong Hoon is the coach of Sroung Pheavy, who  won the gold medal on May 8 in the women's 3-cushion carom single contest, defeating Vietnamese player Hoang Yen Nhi Nguyen.



Sroung Pheavy beat her opponent 25-20 in the event in the Aeon 2 mall. She defeated Vietnamese player Kien Tuong and Filipina Chezka Luy Centeno to reach the final.
