Cambodian PM to Pay Official Visit to Vietnam Next Week

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet will pay an official visit to Vietnam on Dec. 11 and 12 to further advance bilateral ties and cooperation, said a foreign ministry's statement on Thursday.



His upcoming visit "signifies a further deepening of the long-standing relationship based on the spirit of good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term stability between Cambodia and Vietnam for the mutual benefit of the two nations", the statement said.



In Hanoi, Hun Manet will hold a bilateral meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, aiming at further enhancing and expanding the wide-ranging areas of cooperation, including education, trade, investment, connectivity, tourism, culture, security, defense and border affairs, among others.



Sub-regional, regional and international issues of common interest and concern will also be on the agenda, the statement said, adding that the two prime ministers will witness the signing of several agreements, and co- preside over the Cambodia-Vietnam Trade and Investment Promotion Forum.
