PHNOM PENH – As Khmer New Year approaches, the Phnom Penh administration has prepared 597 buses to take people to their hometowns or provinces, an increase on last year when there were 455.

The free services will run from April 12 to 17.

A hundred will be used on the Phnom Penh Road Line.  The rest will operate between Phnom Penh and provinces. Each bus will have free water for passengers.

Four new provinces have been added to the service, Oddar Meanchey, Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri, and Preah Vihear, making a total of 24 provinces and Phnom Penh City.

The Phnom Penh administration has urged workers, employees, and citizens to use the city buses to reduce their travel costs.
