Flight and Hotel Problems Disrupt National Team Training

PHNOM PENH – Cambodia’s national football team manager has complained about flight and hotel arrangements in Indonesia for the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup.

The Football Federations of Cambodia said in a Facebook post that the team left the country early on Dec. 21, hoping to have time to train in the evening and before the match.

However, the flight was delayed twice. The team arrived in Indonesia at 10.45 pm and had to wait an hour to go to the hotel. The journey took 15 hours.

The delay shortened the training time as the training schedule was cancelled twice. The team only had a day to train for the match on Dec. 23 against Indonesia’s national team.

Keisuke Honda, the team manager, tweeted on Dec. 22 that he called the hotel twice to ask about the rooms but got no response. The hotel only responded after 4am.

Despite the short time for training and relaxing, Honda was still able to deal with the problems for the important match with Indonesia.

The match is the second one for Cambodia in Group A after beating the Philippines 3:2 on Dec. 20.
