PHNOM PENH – Many tourists were drawn to the National Museum of Cambodia on the second day of the Water Festival.
Ines Fernandes Pinheiro Abreu from Portugal said two major factors attracted her and other European tourists to Cambodia.
“First is the cultural shock, the culture and community are completely different from Europe,” she said.
“The second factor is affordability, as visiting Cambodia offers a more economical travel option for European visitors.”
The museum in central Phnom Penh is home to the greatest collection of Khmer treasures, including sculptures, ceramics and ethnographic objects dating to the prehistoric, pre-Angkorian, Angkorian, and post-Angkorian periods.
Near the Royal Palace, the museum opens daily from 8am to 5pm. Admission cost depends on age and nationality.
