PHNOM PENH – Tourists visiting Ta Moan and Ta Krabey temples in Oddar Meanchey province will receive a free tour guide service, new governor Mean Chanyada says.
Through his Facebook post on July 17, the governor encouraged tourists to visit these ancient temples.
The decision was made during his visit to the temples and the soldiers stationed at the border of the temples on July 16, ten days after taking office.
Ta Krabey temple is in Banteay Ampil district while Ta Moan temple is on the Dangrek mountain range of Oddar Meanchey province.
The post did not say if the service will be only for national tourists or if it will include international tourists.
Attempts to contact Chanyada by phone were unsuccessful.
Mean Chanyada replaced Pen Kosal for Oddar Meanchey’s administration based on a royal decree on June 24.
Originally written in Khmer for ThmeyThmey, this story was translated by Rin Ousa for Cambodianess.
