Para Athlete Vet Chantha Wins Long Jump Gold

PHNOM PENH PHNOM PENH – Cambodian athlete Vet Chantha won gold in the women’s long jump T64 at the ASEAN Para Games on June 4.



The long jump is organized without any division of the types of disability.



After six rounds at Moradok National Stadium, she believed she had come second and told fans and journalists she had won the silver medal. She learned later that she had won the gold based on the type of disabilities of the athletes.



Vet Chantha won with a distance of 3.9900 meters while Myanmar Law Lar Win, who jumped 3.7400 meters, won the silver.



Chantha won a gold medal in this long jump event in 2021 in Solo, Indonesia. She also won a silver medal in the long jump in 2017 in Malaysia.



In the ASEAN Para Games in Solo, Vet Chantha won two gold and one silver medals, with two gold in the long jump and women’s 400m and a silver in the women’s 200m.
