SIEM REAP – Professional photographer Thlang Dyna is traveling around the Tonle Sap River taking pictures to collect money to help children in hospital.

It was a promise made to celebrate his daughter’s birth on Feb. 9, 2022. Unfortunately, the baby passed away three days later after choking on milk.

This is one of the photos Dyna sells to help the Angkor Hospital for Children.

Dyna, however, kept his promise and began his mission on Feb. 20 this year.

He arranged the “Photography Adventure for Charity with Neal” event —  Neal was the baby’s name — to fulfil his promise after finding out his wife’s pregnancy in 2021.

The money from each picture is for the non-profit Angkor Hospital for Children in Siem Reap province. It cooperates with the government to provide free healthcare to children.

“Three years ago, my wife got pregnant and I was so excited because I wanted my daughter to be independent, fond of nature, and adventurous. To welcome her to the world, I wanted to hold this charity event,” Dyna said.

“However, I still remember this promise forever.”

His work will be put on sale on the Facebook account named Dyna Pisith. The photographs include monks, birds, the river, and Cambodian people’s lives.

Dyna is expecting to earn $2,500 from this charity event to donate to the hospital.

For his skill, Dyna has been recognized by the public, and his works once contributed significantly to the Lake Clinic Cambodia in 2019.
