This major investment began with the initial construction of a Ford vehicle assembly plant on a total area of over 5 hectares, with an initial investment of USD 21 million for the Complete Knock-Down (CKD) level in 2022.

Recently, the company increased its investment to USD 26.8 million for the construction of the sub-assembly plant and modernization of the new production line at the Incomplete Knock-Down (IKD-1) level, expanding the total land area to 12 hectares.

The facility has a production capacity of over 10,000 vehicles per year. One of Ford Cambodia’s proudest achievements in 2025 is the international recognition of its vehicle identification number for cars produced in Cambodia, labeled Made in Cambodia, by Cambodians, granted by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE International).

From 2022 to April 2025, the company has assembled a total of 7,492 vehicles. These include Ford Ranger Pick-Up models (Wildtrak, XLT, XL) and Ford SUV models (Ford Everest Titanium, Ford Everest Sport and Ford Territory).

Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Hun Manet praised and appreciated RMA Group for its trust and selection of Cambodia as a strategic location for investment in the automotive assembly industry, and for successfully launching this new production line and Ford sub-assembly plant to serve the Cambodian market.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the presence of this giant company’s modern heavy industry, which has contributed to the development of human resources, the transfer of knowledge and technology through direct work in the production chain, and the promotion of Cambodia’s economic growth.

Mr. Kevin Whitcraft, Chairman of RMA Group, stated: “RMA’s success has mirrored the success of Cambodia in the last thirty years.

“It comes from great American products, the passionate and professional commitment of our Khmer staff and most importantly a combination of a free market economy and political stability in Cambodia.

“Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.”
