Sailing Competition Begins in Sihanoukville

PHNOM PENH – The sailing contest has begun on May 2 in the morning off the coast of Sihanoukville, becoming the 5th sport to kickoff before the official opening of the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games), which will be celebrated on May 5.



The other four competitions that have already started are Khmer chess Ok Chaktrong, indoor hockey, cricket and football.



In the Men's ILCA 7 race, Cambodian athlete Nhov Chan competes against Malaysian Muhammad Faizal Ahmad Asri, Filipino Jeanson Gimeno Lumapas, Singaporean Jun Han Ryan Lo, Thai Arthit Mikhail Romanyk and Vietnamese Bui. Tuan Anh.



The Men's wind foil competition will see Cambodia’s Hem Sophy competing against John Harold Abarintos Madrigal of the Philippines, Singapore's Elkan Reshaw Oh and Thailand's Ek Boonsawad.



In the same sport’s youth category has only three athletes running: Keo Pheanon from the Philippines, Andrei Fredo Tugade and Passapong Lianglam from Thailand.



In the Men’s Windsurfing RS: One, Keo Phearun competes against Izry Hafiezy Fitry Azri of Malaysia, Dhenver John Centino Castillo of the Philippines, David Tiong Gee NG of Singapore and Todsawat Sianglam of Thailand.



The Men’s Windsurfing RS: X discipline will see Sem Bropov meet Malaysia's Muhammad Hafizin Mansor, Singapore's Jayson Jian Sen Tan and Thailand's Witthawat Lerdlam.



As for the Mixed ILCA 4 Open, Sambath Chornsann competes against Malaysia's Muhammad Asnawi Iqbal Adam, Philippines' Teogenes Ambong Vilando, Singapore's Isaac Goh, Thailand's Thanapat Siricharoen and Vietnam's Bui Nguyen Le Hang.



In the Mixed 29er Open, Sun Chandoeun and Sin Samnang compete against teams from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.



In the Mixed Optimist Mix, Bo Sam Y and Burggaraaf Serey Thera face off against Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.



In the Women's ILCA 6, Tith Somsoriya competes against Malaysia's Nur Adlina Nasreen Mohd Nasri, Singapore's Jania Ang, Thailand's Thorfun Boonnak and Vietnam's Nguyen Thi My Hanh.



The sailing contest will run until May 7.
