For the second consecutive year, Smart Axiata has been honored with the prestigious AmCham CSR Excellence Award, for its outstanding contributions to digital inclusion.

This outstanding win of the “Digital Inclusion” award on 29th of January of 2025 underscores the company’s unwavering commitment to leveraging technology to bridge educational gaps and build a digitally inclusive society in Cambodia.

Through its impactful collaboration with Educational Broadcasting Cambodia (EBC), Smart Axiata continues to advance digital education nationwide, empowering communities and fostering sustainable development.

This initiative aligns with the company’s sustainability framework, “Advancing Digital Society,” and reinforces its dedication to empowering Cambodia’s youth through innovative and accessible learning solutions.

The partnership focuses on two key actions. First, Smart Axiata provides 1GB of free daily internet to ‘SmartLaor!’ users which can be claimed via the SmartNas app. This initiative was piloted at Hun Sen Serey Pheap High School, with plans for even further expansion in the future.

Second, Smart Axiata introduced affordable ‘Digital Learning Add-Ons’ for all Smart users. These packages, priced at lower cost compared to the standard rate, are tailored for studying on EBC and Onesala platforms, ensuring students can access quality education at minimal cost.

This collaboration empowers students by breaking down barriers to education, bridging the divide between urban and rural communities, and fostering a culture of lifelong learning. It aligns seamlessly with the Royal Government of Cambodia’s vision for inclusive education and digital transformation, ensuring that no one is left behind in the nation’s journey toward progress.

In December 2023, the company received the same award for its ‘Digital Literacy Program,’ launched in 2019 in partnership with the Ministry of Environment. This ongoing, award-winning CSR initiative has equipped approximately 5,000 high school students with digital literacy and skills as of 2024.

Smart Axiata’s recognition at the 6th AmCham CSR Excellence Awards is a testament to the company’s continued commitment to digital inclusion and education. This accolade follows another recent honor; the ‘Technology Leader Award’ at EuroCham’s ESG Contest and Awards 2024, where Smart Axiata was honored for its excellence in cybersecurity and digital inclusion.

As part of its mission to build trust in digital infrastructure, Smart Axiata recently launched the ‘Cybersecurity Add-On’, an innovative solution providing an extra layer of safety available for Smart users. This initiative underscores the company’s dedication to safeguarding its customers while advancing Cambodia’s digital ecosystem.
