Supreme Council of Advisors seeks to spend unspent budget on cars

Body sees need for state vehicles to facilitate work

PHNOM PENH - The Supreme Council of Advisors will submit a request to the government to buy cars for work, the chairman of the council’s secretariat said Friday.

Chhim Phal Virun said the council had about $450,000 left from its annual budget of $1.32 million.

Pich Sros, a council member who chairs the opposition Cambodian Youth Party, said the cars were for council work and would not belong to any member.

“The Supreme Council of Advisors is a state body so there is a need for state vehicles to facilitate its work,” he said.
