Cambodia’s Defense Minister General Tea Banh left for a five-day visit to China on Thursday to attend a military sporting event and a security forum.
The military sporting event under the theme “Sharing Friendship and Promoting High Peace” will be held in Hubei province on Friday, Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defense said in a statement.
“General Tea Banh will discuss some important topics related to security problems in the region,” the ministry said.
It added that, after attending the sporting event, Gen. Tea Banh will continue his trip to take part in the 9th Beijing Xiangshan Forum under the theme “Interests of Small and Medium-Sized Countries and Common Security.”
The minister also plans to meet with his Chinese counterpart, Defense Minister Wei Fenghe, to discuss strengthening and expanding cooperation between the two countries, according to the Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defense.
