The Ministry of Environment Monday said that air quality, which was reported on Jan. 17 to have reached unhealthy levels, is actually fine in Phnom Penh and the provinces.

On its Facebook page, the ministry showed a chart showing air quality registered at several of its monitoring stations. As can be seen on the graphs, Air Quality Value (AQI) is below 0.50, which means that it is at healthy levels, the ministry explained.

In any case, the ministry’s staff is monitoring the situation and will keep people informed, the ministry’s message read.

IQAir reported Monday at its AirVisual website that the US AQI in Phnom Penh was 118, which is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups.
