PHNOM PENH--The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that, as of Friday 5 pm, Cambodia time, a total of 846 cases of the Wuhan virus had been confirmed throughout the world.

“Of the 846 cases reported, 830 cases were reported from China,” the WHO said. And among the other 11 confirmed cases, 10 were people who had traveled Wuhan, the WHO added.

“One confirmed case in Vietnam had no travel history to any part of China but was a family member of a confirmed case who visited Wuhan,” the WHO said. “This suggests an instance of human to human transmission that occurred in Vietnam.”

Among the cases confirmed, 177 patients affected were reported severely ill.

So far, no case has been reported in Cambodia. The Ministry of Health is monitoring the situation with staff assigned at all airports and border checkpoints monitoring people entering the country.

For more information, people may call the health hotline at 115.

Anyone experiencing symptoms may go to the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital on Street 271 in Phnom Penh.
