PHNOM PENH -- Phnom Penh authorities arrested 30 suspects in an operation to crack down on an illicit filming location on Oct. 24.

The operation took place at a building in Boeng Keng Kang district, National Police spokesperson Chhay Kimkhoeun said.

Police could not yet identify them or their nationality and were waiting for the results of interrogations and expert research.

Kimkhoeun said the suspects would be transferred to the court if they were found to have been involved in crime.

The raid took place after two Cambodian women, who claimed to be victims, filed complaints with police.

Interior Ministry spokesperson Touch Sokhak said on his Facebook account that the operation involved two out of six targets set by the Interior Ministry to crack down on criminal offenses and human trafficking cases.

The other four targets include drugs problems, traffic, gangsters control, and issues along the land borders and maritime boundaries with neighboring countries, he added.
