A Cambodian Woman Tests Positive for COVID-19 on the 13th Day of Her Quarantine

She had tested negative upon her arrival from abroad
PHNOM PENH--The Ministry of Health on Nov. 2 announced that a new case of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 had been identified in the country.
This involves a Cambodian woman who had traveled from Japan via South Korea and arrived in Cambodia on Oct. 19, the Ministry of Health said in a press release.
The 31-year-old woman, who had tested negative for the coronavirus upon arrival in the country, tested positive for COVID-19 on the 13th day of her quarantine. The patient is now receiving treatment at the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital in Phnom Penh.
The Ministry of Health said that she was on the same flight as a man from Poland who tested positive for COVID-19 when he arrived on Oct. 19.
The other 52 passengers on that flight who tested negative for the coronavirus have been put into quarantine at three hotels in Phnom Penh and at the Air Force Center.
"Twenty-five passengers at the Air Force Center at risk of transmission from [this new patient] are required to continue to be quarantined a further 14 days to monitor their health," the ministry said.
This latest case brings Cambodia’s total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 292 with nine patients still under treatment and the other patients having since recovered.
