Forte Life: Talent management and development is the way forward to scale up and better serve the community

Forte Life Assurance has been putting great emphasis in developing talents with objectives to create a new breed of life insurance entrepreneurs that can help to grow their individual life insurance business and bring insurance protection to all segments of the society in Cambodia. We are indeed honoured that we can play a meaningful role in nation building and help the government to achieve the penetration rate targets and bring the much needed but still largely ignored insurance protections to all Khmer families, especially the medium and lower income segments.
With that in mind, the Agency Leadership Conference, held on August 5 and 6, 2023 by Forte Life Assurance, was organised with objectives to further develop our talents in their entrepreneurial skills in terms of business management, teambuilding, coaching and counselling, and productivity improvement that are vital to business success in life insurance agency business. We would like to develop the most well-trained entrepreneurs with high professional ethics and positive mindset to better serve our customers with high quality advice and services. We are a strong believer that life insurance is the foundation of any financial planning and we can play a critical role in helping and educating all Cambodians on their personal finances, and guiding them towards achieving long term financial independence and peace of mind knowing that their needs and wants are well taken care of.
Doeu Chhunlay, a business manager based in Battambang, was one of the participants in the Agency Leadership Conference. After the training, Chhunlay, felt that he is much equipped now in terms of understanding his roles and responsibilities, and able to face the challenges in the industry with confidence while growing his team of talents to better serve the customers in Battambang areas.
“Even during the downturn of my business, the knowledge that I learned today will greatly strengthen my belief in life insurance business and the meaningful role that I can play in helping the Khmer families to acquire basic life insurance protection and achieve financial independence. It will never be the same again and now I strongly believe in the future potential of life insurance business and the important role I can play” said Chhunlay.
The seminar was conducted by a group of local and foreign speakers with vast life insurance agency experience in developed and developing markets especially in this region. Among the speakers is Robert Trieu, a Cambodian-Canadian life insurance agency expert who had worked in the insurance sector for more than 30 years. His previous experience includes working in multi-national corporations in Canada, Taiwan, China and Vietnam before his retirement in December 2022. This is the second time in this year that Forte Life Assurance had engaged foreign experts to train their agency talents. As affirmed by the CEO of Forte Life Assurance, Mr. Prou Sythan. “We are indeed very positive about the growth potential of our individual life agency business and what we saw during the last 2 days will only further strengthen our belief. We will continue to invest in our people to better serve our customers with quality advice and services”.
