Khmer New Year: 13 Million Tourists Travelled Around Cambodia

PHNOM PENH - For three days during Khmer New Year, between April 13 to 15, Cambodia welcomes more than 13 million visitors both domestic and foreign.



According to the tourism statistics, Cambodia received around 13.3 million domestic tourists and around 82 thousand foreign tourists all across the country.



In cultural hotspots of Kampong Thom, Oddar Meanchey, Siem Reap, and Preah Vihear province, the region received more than 1.2 million domestic tourists with more than 10 thousands foreign tourists.



In coastal hotspots of Sihanoukville, Kampot, Kep, and Koh Kong province, the region received more than 1.5 million domestic tourists with more than 18 thousands foreign tourists.



In ecotourism hotspots of Kratie, Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri, and Steung Treng, the region received more than 100 thousand domestic tourists with more than one thousand foreign tourists.



In Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Pailin, and Pursat province, this region received more than 2 million domestic tourists with more than 18 thousand foreign tourists.



In provinces such as Kampong Cham, Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Speu, Kandal, Takeo, and Tbong Khmum, these places received more than 7.4 million domestic tourists with more than 14 thousand foreign tourists.
