Milled Rice Exports Close to 600,000 Tons, Generate $420 Million

PHNOM PENH – Cambodia exported 595,630 metric tons of milled rice in the first 11 months of 2023, earning a total gross revenue of more than $420 million.



This amount equals 85 percent of the 700,000-ton export target set by the Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF) for 2023.



According to a CRF news release, the country exported 198,761 tons of milled rice to China and its autonomous administration regions, making a revenue of $128 million. 



Exports to 26 European countries reached 240,751 tons, earning over $171 million.



In addition, Cambodia also exported 76,514 tons of milled rice to 6 ASEAN countries, making a revenue of over $50 million. 



The remaining 79,604 tons were shipped to 26 different countries in Africa, the Middle East and other regions, for over $70 million. 



In addition to milled rice, Cambodia exported 3,926,566 tons of paddy rice, earning a gross income of $1.156 billion.



Cambodia’s milled rice is made up of different types, with fragrant rice accounting for 82.2 percent of milled rice exports. It is followed by white rice (13.13 percent), parboiled rice (3.04 percent), organic rice (1.61 percent) and japonica rice (0.02 percent).
