PHNOM PENH – Cambodia’s head coach Felix Dalmas says he is happy about the performance of the national team despite it getting knocked out of the ASEAN Football Federation Under-23 Championship.
The team lost 2-0 to host Thailand at the PTT Rayong Stadium on Aug. 21.
“The passion and the effort against a team which is much, much stronger than us on paper is contagious. We will do better next time,” Dalmas said.
Cambodia, in group A, stands in second place with four points after a 5-0 win against Brunei and a 1-1 draw against Myanmar.
Thailand is the only team in Group A to qualify for the semifinal and will face Malaysia and Vietnam. Indonesia and the Philippines will play for the knockout stage in the semifinal.
