PHNOM PENH: Cambodia’s Football Prodigy Chan Vathanaka has undergone successful surgery and will be out of the field for about six months.



The Boeung Ket FC Striker ruptured his Knees in a Pre-Season friendly Match last week.



The Kingdom’s Prime Minister Hun Sen and his wife, Bun Rany Hun Sen, supported the Cambodian International with the sum of $ 50,000 to help with the treatment.



Meanwhile, The Secretary of State for the Ministry of Agriculture and father of Chan Vathanaka, Chan Chesda, wrote on his Facebook page thanking Prime Minister Hun Sen, and his wife, Bun Rany Hun Sen, for their support



“On behalf of my son and the whole family of Chan Vathanaka, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Prime Minister and Samdech Bun Rany Hun Sen who has donated the amount of $ 50,000 to treat my son's injuries,” he stated.



Boeung Ket Football Club had announced that Chan Vathanaka's right knee has suffered Anterior Cruciate Ligament, the cruciate ligaments control the back and forth motion of a knee and will be out for about 6 months.
