Improve Product Quality and Services: Ministry of Tourism Urged

PHNOM PENH – The Ministry of Tourism has urged all businesses to improve the quality of tourism and hospitality for the 32nd SEA Games and the 12th ASEAN Para Games.

Tourism business owners should strengthen welfare, hygiene, security, and public order to provide a relaxing experience for national and international tourists.

All businesses must be decorated to show Cambodia's culture, traditions, and customs and have lighting at night but they must not affect the image of public order.

There should be a focus on hygiene for tourists and promotion of government measures to prevent COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.

Good service and hospitality were important when competing in good hospitality in tourism and following the guidelines for outstanding tourism businesses of the campaign "Visit Cambodia Year 2023."

Staff must maintain good hygiene, be friendly, honest and professional in their customer service and be able to communicate in a second language.

The ministry also requires all businesses in the tourism industry to maintain the value of their services, both in quality and quantity.

Vendors should not charge more than the price indicated or increase prices excessively or without a clear reason.

Waste management was an important issue. Restaurants and cafeterias need to have bins at all tables and have staff clean them.

For tourist transport, standards must be followed and capacity limits observed.

All businesses should join in introducing additional tourist destinations to attract tourists.

The SEA Games will take place from May 5 to 17. The Para Games will take place from June 3 to 9.
