International Panel to Select Cambodia Champions in CamDEBATE Public Speaking & Debate Final

Thousands of Participants attend the CamDEBATE Final 2023

One of Asia's biggest Public Speaking and Debate contests is nearing the final stage, scheduled for May 19, 2024, at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), in Phnom Penh.

This year, CamDEBATE hosted more than 900 contestants, representing 9 nationalities, aged between 15 and 23 years old, from over 200 schools and universities across Cambodia. After a series of audition and elimination rounds taking place since March, 16 finalists will now advance to the final round, with thousands of attendees in support.

CamDEBATE is a premiere platform for Professional Development in Public Speaking and Debate, cultivating a healthy culture of dialogue between participants and the sharing of different perspectives to promote and foster understanding, friendship and knowledge among local and international youths in Cambodia.

Hosted by IDP Education, the world’s leading provider of international education and student placement services, and in partnership with key institutions in Cambodia and abroad, CamDEBATE offers a platform for promoting problem-solving, critical thinking and interpersonal skills for young people across the region.

The contest provides an opportunity for individuals interested in debating and public speaking in English to enhance their fluency, showcase their proficiency and develop vital skills that contribute to their academic pathways, career prospects, personal growth and lifelong pathways.

Eight winners will be awarded a two-week study tour to the United Kingdom, supported by Stafford House of CATS Global Schools, as well as trophies, medals, certificates, scholarships at the Australian Centre for Education (ACE) and many more prizes.
