Four held after two-month probe



PHNOM PENH  Authorities have cracked down on three secret drug processing laboratories, one in Phnom Penh and two in Kampong Speu.



The Anti-Drug Department said on May 26 that four Taiwanese men were arrested. More than 1,400 kilos of drugs and more than 11 tonnes of precursor chemicals were seized.



Raids took place on May 19 after more than two months of investigations, the department said. 



Those arrested were Tien Chan Fu, 28, Khou Po Wen, 28, Teng Kuo Ching, 39, Lin Yi Chheng, 31. All have been sent to the Phnom Penh Court to be processed.



The first location was in Sangkat Boeung Keng Kang I in Phnom Penh.  The others were in Sangkae Satob and Yeay Mao Pich Nil communes in  Kampong Speu province.



In 2021, the authority cracked down on two major drug production sites in Kampong Speu province, finding 2237 kilos of drugs and 84 tonnes of chemicals.  More than 10 Chinese suspects were arrested.
