SIEM REAP — The Angkor Archeological Park in Siem Reap province generated more than $32 million in tickets sales from January through November 2023.

According to the Angkor Enterprise’s report, nearly 700,000 foreign tourists have visited this UNESCO World Heritage site so far this year.

In November alone, nearly 97,500 visitors purchased tickets, which totaled more than $4.6 million.

Angkor Enterprise withdrew nearly $1.4 million from these revenues to give to the Kantha Bopha Foundation to support its children’s hospitals in the country. This donation corresponds to $2 per ticket, its report stated.

During the same 11-month period, boat ticket sales at the floating village Chong Kneas on the Tonle Sap River reached more than $500,000, Angkor Enterprise said. There are nearly 20,000 boats at the site.

Three categories of tickets are offered for the Angkor Archaeological Park: one-day tickets costing $37, three-day tickets costing $62, and seven-day ticket costing $72.

From January to October 2023, Cambodia welcomed more than 4 million tourists, which represented a jump of 179 percent compared to the same period last year.

The country received nearly 2.28 million international tourists in 2022, which was an increase of 1,059 percent compared to 2021, according to the Ministry of Tourism.
