Cambodia and China Pledge to Build Strong Armies

PHNOM PENH – Cambodia and China have agreed on building strong armies with friendliness and prosperity as a part of being comprehensive strategic partners. 



General Mao Sophan, Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army, and General Li Qiaoming of the People's Liberation Army's Ground Force met on Nov. 6 and agreed on three areas for cooperation. 



It was the first official visit of General Li to Cambodia, according to the Royal Cambodian Army. 



The areas were building strong armies together, building prosperous armies together, and building friendly armies together. 



“Cambodia is committed to strengthening and expanding its relationship with China both in bilateral framework and multilateral framework, the Lieutenant General said. 



“Cambodia remains supportive of the One China Policy and continues to strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership, build a community with one destiny, and implement the Cambodia-China Diamond Cooperation Framework.” 



General Li thanked Cambodia for giving such importance to strengthening and expanding the relationship with China and the One-China Policy.



Both noted the fruitful relationship in human resource training, all-level delegation exchanges, and material assistance and the importance of continuing cooperation and implementing signed memorandums of understanding.
