Visakha FC Tops Table for Third Week

PHNOM PENH – Visakha leads the Cambodian Premier League (CPL) in the third week, while Kirivong Sok Sen Chey drops to last.



Angkor Tiger FC saw its first win, 2-0 over Kirivong Sok Sen Chey at Hanuman Stadium on August 19.



The next day, Prey Veng FC drew 1-1 against Boeung Ket FC at Prey Veng FC. Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng continued their winning run by beating Naga World FC 1-0 at Svay Rieng Stadium. Visakha FC crushed ISI Dangkor Senchey FC 4-0 at Prince Stadium.



Meanwhile, Phnom Penh Crown FC had a duty to compete in the AFC Cup Preliminary Stage on August 16 and won against Young Elephant, a team from Laos, at RSN Stadium.



The CPL defense champions will compete in their third week against The Tiffy Army FC on August 31 at Phnom Penh Crown’s RSN stadium.



Visakha leads the CPL table with nine points and five goals ahead of the league leader, Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng.



Prey Veng FC is in third place, two goals ahead of fourth place Boeung Ket FC.  Both have four points.



In the fourth week, on August 26, Naga World FC will welcome Phnom Penh Crown FC at Kampong Speu Stadium at 6 p.m. While ISI Dangkor Senchey FC opens their stadium, welcome  Prah Khan Reach Svay Rieng at AIA Stadium at 6 p.m.



On August 27, Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC will play against Prey Veng FC at Kirivong Stadium at 3:45 p.m. Angkor Tiger FC will play Tiffy Army FC at Hanuman Stadium at 3:45 p.m.



Boeungket FC will play against Visakha at Olympic Stadium, with the time to be confirmed later.



Marcus Warren Haber of Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng is the top scorer with five goals, followed by De Oliveira Bastos Jonata of Visakha FC with four goals and De Oliveira Marques Marcio of Naga World FC with three goals.



Cambodian players Sin Sophat of Visakha FC and Chan Vathanaka of Boeung Ket FC are in the fourth and fifth places with two goals each.
