Chinese Gunmen Who Freed Prisoner Arrested: Police

SIEM REAP – Some of the gunmen who freed a Chinese drug convict in Siem Reap on Aug. 17 have been arrested, police say.



Provincial police chief Teng Channath announced the arrests but said he could not give the exact number of those arrested.



“We identified most of the gunmen, and we continue to search for more,” he said. “We had arrested the gunmen about 30% of the time, not 100% success yet.”



Fresh News quoted Commissioner General of National Police Neth Savoeun as saying authorities had arrested six gunmen.

They freed Chen Hsin Han, 45, who had been sentenced to 52 years in prison after being arrested on Feb. 11, 2009. It was unknown whether Chen Hsin Han was among those arrested
